Macron Just Dissolved the French Parliament

In a dramatic response to his party's significant losses in the European Parliament elections, French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Sunday that he would dissolve the National Assembly and call for an early legislative election. Addressing the nation from the Elysee Palace, Macron declared, "I've decided to give you back the choice of our parliamentary future through the vote. I am therefore dissolving the National Assembly." The elections are scheduled to occur in two stages, on June 30 and July 7.

This decision follows the initial results from France's participation in the European Union's parliamentary elections, which saw Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally party taking a commanding lead over Macron's centrist Renew party. The outcome poses a significant political gamble for Macron, potentially leading to further setbacks that could impair his presidency, which is set to continue until 2027.

These election results arrive at a critical juncture for the European Union, which has been navigating challenges such as the coronavirus pandemic, economic downturns, and an energy crisis exacerbated by the largest land conflict in Europe since World War II. The focus of political campaigns often remains on national issues, despite the broader context of European interests.

TJ Maxx Puts Body Cams on Employees

By now, you know that crime is up pretty much everywhere. Naturally, a number of retailers, particularly those located in more left-leaning governed areas, have had to make some changes in how they do business.

For some, that means reversing the push for self-checkout lanes. For others, it means that most items, even fairly cheap ones, get locked up.

For TJX Cos., (the owner of TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, and HomeGoods) it means strapping body cameras to their employees.

Naturally, the idea is that if thieves see you watching them, they are less likely to make off with unpurchased products.

Fish is often hailed as a heart-healthy food, packed with omega-3 fatty acids and other nutrients. However, there's one fish that experts warn could have the opposite effect on your heart health. This seemingly harmless seafood is a staple in many diets, but consuming it could potentially increase your risk of a heart attack. Studies have shown that this particular fish is high in certain harmful substances that can lead to clogged arteries and elevated cholesterol levels, which are major risk factors for heart disease.

Despite its reputation as a healthy protein source, the health risks associated with “this heart-attack fish” are too significant to ignore. Health experts advise opting for fish that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon or sardines, which are known to support heart health rather than harm it. Before your next seafood meal, make sure to choose wisely and avoid the potential dangers lurking in your dinner plate. Stay informed, stay healthy, and protect your heart by making better fish choices.
