Eric Adams Gets Involved in Weiner Dispute

This year's Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is set to proceed without its reigning champion, Joey Chestnut, who has dominated the event for the past eight years. The exclusion stems from Chestnut's new endorsement deal with Impossible Foods, known for their recent launch of a vegan hot dog, which conflicts with his participation in the Nathan-sponsored event. This development has sparked considerable debate among fans and competitors alike, with one rival commenting that this year's contest will bear a "huge asterisk" should Chestnut not compete.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has expressed his desire to see Chestnut compete at Coney Island on July 4, aiming for his ninth consecutive win. Adams took to social media to voice his opinion, stating, "Stop being such weenies! It would be ‘impossible’ to have this year’s Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest without Joey Chestnut. Let’s find a way to squash this beef and bring back the champ for another 4th of July at Coney Island!"

In response to the controversy, Major League Eating and Nathan’s issued a statement expressing their disappointment over Chestnut's decision to represent a competing brand. Meanwhile, Impossible Foods has shown support for Chestnut, stating, "We love Joey and support him in any contest he chooses. It's OK to experiment with a new dog. Meat eaters shouldn't have to be exclusive to just one wiener."

Hulk Hogan Launches “Real American Beer”

Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has entered the beverage industry with the launch of Real American Beer, aiming to unite a nation he sees as increasingly divided. "It doesn't matter who you are, what you are, what your sex is, race, color, creed, what you believe in. This is for real Americans, and that's what we all are," Hogan stated in an interview with Fox News Digital.

The WWE Hall of Famer, known for his patriotic persona and entrance to the ring with the anthem "Real American," views this venture as a significant opportunity, reminiscent of a business chance he once missed. Hogan recounted a pivotal moment when he missed a call from his agent, Sam Perlmutter, leading to a missed opportunity with a lucrative product endorsement. "I was picking up my kids, so he called George after he called me. George picked a grill. I got the blender that wouldn't even work. So that's one of those wild, wild West deals that lives on forever," Hogan explained.

Real American Beer will also be featured in various bars and restaurants, including Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos and select Hooters of America locations, and will be available on U.S. military bases. The brand’s website additionally offers apparel and merchandise featuring the logo, further promoting Hogan’s vision of unity through this new venture.
