Justice Served: Dishonest Veteran Brought Down for Defrauding Government

In a welcome display of accountability, a Maryland jury convicted Army vet William Rich yesterday for swindling nearly $800,000 in phony VA disability payments by fabricating a bogus claim of being paralyzed.

According to documents obtained by this publication, Rich now faces serious consequences for committing egregious acts of wire fraud (five counts) and stealing government property (one count). His deceitful scheme unraveled thanks to diligent efforts by officials at the Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General who caught wind of his ruse through surveillance.
