Sinkhole in Alton, Illinois, Opens Up on Football Field

A massive sinkhole, estimated to be around 100 feet deep and equally wide, emerged suddenly in the center of a field at Gordon Moore Park in Alton, Illinois, engulfing a large light pole in its depths.

The incident occurred last week directly above a limestone mine, local sources reported. Fortunately, there were no injuries as the park was empty at the time of the collapse. Alton City Hall announced via Facebook that all scheduled sports and events have been suspended for a second consecutive day as investigations proceed.

Alton Mayor David Goins emphasized the fortunate timing of the event, stating, "No one was on the field at the time and no one was hurt, and that's the most important thing."

Top Donor John Morgan Fires Back at Biden’s Top Aides

In a striking critique following President Joe Biden's widely criticized performance at the first presidential debate in Atlanta, prominent Democratic donor John Morgan has publicly rebuked three of Biden's key advisers. The debate, which was viewed by millions, showcased a less-than-stellar performance from Biden, leading to heightened scrutiny from both supporters and critics alike.

John Morgan, a significant financial supporter of Biden and a close associate of Biden's brother Frank, did not hold back in his condemnation of the president's advisers. He specifically targeted former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, senior adviser Anita Dunn, and the president's personal attorney Bob Bauer, who is also Dunn's husband.

"Biden's advisers failed him," Morgan stated emphatically in a social media post. He criticized the debate's format, claiming it was detrimental to Biden while favoring his opponent, Donald Trump. "Format was a disaster for him and a plus for Trump. He over practiced and was drained… who wouldn't be," Morgan added, suggesting that the preparation strategy was flawed.
