Federal Government Launches Investigation Into Delta Airlines Amid Widespread Disruptions

In response to thousands of flight cancellations and passenger complaints, the US Department of Transportation, led by Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, has initiated an inquiry into Delta Air Lines' operational woes.

On social media platform X, Buttigieg declared, "We've launched an investigation into @Delta to ensure the airline is following the law and taking care of its passengers during continued widespread disruptions." He further emphasized his commitment to upholding consumer rights, stating, “All airline passengers have the right to be treated fairly, and I will make sure that right is upheld.”

This development follows reports that nearly 4000 flights have been axed since Friday alone, leaving countless travelers stranded and frustrated. In addition, hundreds of grievances concerning service interruptions at Delta have flooded the transportation agency.
