Southern Border Arrests Plummet Under Biden Admin - But Is It Really Good News?

In what appears to be a rare bright spot amidst the ongoing crisis at our nation's borders, new reports indicate that arrests along the US-Mexico boundary have plummeted under Joe Biden's presidency, reaching levels unseen since his inauguration.

According to multiple insiders speaking exclusively to The New York Times, law enforcement apprehended fewer than 60,000 individuals attempting to cross into America last month alone. A separate DHS insider corroborated these figures with FOX News, pegging the exact tally around 57,000 detentions.

While Team Biden might seize upon such news as vindication of their lax approach to national sovereignty, experts caution against premature celebration. In reality, seasonal fluctuations often drive down migrant traffic during scorching desert summers – rendering raw statistics misleading indicators of genuine progress toward securing our porous frontiers.

Matt O'Brien, director of investigations at the Immigration Reform Law Institute (and erstwhile federal immigration jurist), minced no words when dissecting the White House spin: “The Biden Administration claims that it has reduced the number of illegal border crossings [are] nothing but an attempt to obscure its deliberate refusal to secure the border and enforce the provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act."

Moreover, critics contend that certain initiatives championed by the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue actively undermine meaningful reform efforts. As O'Brien charged, "Team Biden is deliberately hiding the fact that it is unlawfully importing thousands of inadmissible aliens through its CBP One app..."So, while the number of aliens illegally crossing the border on their own may have dropped, the Biden Administration is busy running the biggest illegal alien smuggling operation in history, at the expense of American taxpayers."
