Could Your Dog’s Food Be Contaminated?
The U.S. FDA has issued warnings regarding pet food products from two brands, ANSWERS Pet Food and Darwin's Natural Pet Products, due to potential contamination with salmonella and listeria, which poses health risks not only to pets but potentially to humans as well.
The FDA has called for a recall on these products, though Darwin's Natural Pet Products has not yet issued an official recall, despite preemptive measures to stop shipping potentially affected lots. Pet owners are advised to dispose of the contaminated food safely, disinfect any surfaces it touched, and check for any recalled products before feeding their pets.
