“Black Jobs” Controversy

Joe Biden just announced that his administration has created over 2 million “black jobs.” This is the same verbiage that Trump used a few years ago and faced significant backlash over because it was seen as racist.

Following Biden’s mention of “black jobs,” social media users immediately pounced on the double standard in media. When Trump used the term, he faced a lot of criticism, though it is expected that Biden will face significantly less.

Political analysts have already noted the discrepancy. If Trump’s comment was seen as “racially insensitive,” Biden should face similar backlash. There should be no difference in interpretation, regardless of political party.

Biden’s remark was about job creation for Black Americans. However, this suggests that there are more opportunities for this demographic. What job is specifically for blacks? It’s clearly a problem of racial equity, employment, and identity. Any bets on how long it will take before the White House issues an apology?
